NOTICE REGARDING FACILITIES
These rules have been made for the purpose of protecting the carpet greens and surrounds and to ensure maximum life of the surfaces. The Bowls Manager is the final arbiter in enforcing these rules. If you have any problems after being warned of any of the following rules, please feel free to approach him/her.
Children under the age of 12 must be supervised at all times.
The use of our facilities is governed by the following rules:-
Only bowls approved shoes can be worn on the greens. This will be strictly enforced.
The warranty on the three playing surfaces will be voided if damage occurs as a result of negligence by the Club to ad-here to certain conditions. One of these is damage to the surfaces as a result of discarded cigarette butts scorching or burning the surfaces. Smoking is banned inside the Bowling Greens area, the outside green and surrounds, and the clubrooms. Smoking must occur only in designated areas outside the Club.
Dropping bowls on the surfaces is a concern. This is to all bowlers, not just ‘dumpers’. The habit of dropping bowls onto the greens when standing on the banks at the start of a game must cease. Care in placing a bowl onto the green after being put on a bank must also be taken so as to place it rather than drop it. Also bowlers who drop bowls from above 30cm (1 foot) when delivering their bowls (dumping) will be encouraged to use a ‘bowlers’ arm. The Club has purchased two of these for use by club members. Visiting bowlers who “dump” their bowls will be warned in the first instance, then, if they continue will be asked to use the “dump mats” provided. If you have a problem with “dumping” it is recommended to see a coach to rectify the problem.
The Wallaroo Bowling Club encourage all club members and visitors to make sure any polish used is completely wiped off their bowls and not left as a sticky residue. No Grippo or similar products can be used on bowls. There is a Bowls Polisher in clubroom for use.
FOOD AND DRINK
Please note that the consumption of any food and drink is not permitted on the playing surface
